During my time pursuing an HVACR Associates Degree, I gained a strong foundation in air conditioning and refrigeration. While earning this degree I worked full time at F.H. Furr, 40 hours a week, and I still graduated with multiple principal awards and a high GPA. The curriculum was hands-on, preparing me for real-world jobs in the field. In my second year, I focused on leadership skills, which set me up for more advanced roles within the HVACR industry and I also took more advanced classes like thermodynamics. I also earned essential industry certifications, developed advanced critical thinking skills and got my EPA Universal certification to work on all HVACR applications including industrial, commercial and residential equipment.

INVOLVEMENT AND VOLUNTEER WORK

2001 - Present

Throughout my life, I've been deeply involved in various volunteer and extracurricular activities. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout after 10 years in Scouting, completing a project that involved building four benches for the town of Warrenton with concrete supports. During high school, More recently, in February 2024, I was part of the Codeboxx team that won a hackathon at the University of South Florida, which was a great experience that highlighted my teamwork and problem-solving skills.I was also an active member of the Students Helping Honduras (SHH) Club, where I served as a Student Representative, managing several successful fundraising events. I was also a dedicated cross-country runner for four years, and our team proudly won the state championship in 2008. Additionally, I'm a current member of the St. Pete Running Club, and in 2017, I completed an unforgettable 525-mile backpacking trip from the French-Spanish border to the Atlantic Ocean. My passion for running also led me to complete the Richmond Marathon in 2010.
